Ah, poor Battler… she’s got you cornered…

Here, take some Rosa.

Here, take some Rosa photos.

Umineko no Naku Koro ni – Episode 10

Shannon and co. return to where the Ushiromiya group is to report the latest events. Gohda tries to explain what happened but gives up eventually, since words are no good. Rosa asks Genji instead, who’s been acting calm as he always does. He tells her what happened, and how they believed the injured person was indeed Kanon at first.  While Rosa believes her theory about Kanon is correct, George asks them what they mean by “at first”. Genji is unable to explain but he tells  them he’s sure it wasn’t Kanon.

Rosa orders everyone to go check the corpses and so they move. Back to the room, the door is left locked since the servants wanted to ensure the safety of the bodies. They open it using a masterkey and to their surprise, the bodies have vanished into thin air, leaving behind only blood stains. Surprised, Gohda explains that he locked the door before leaving. According to Battler, even if Kanon is the culprit he shouldn’ t have a master key. But that’s not entirely correct. Rosa reminds him of what happened to his own master key: that Dr.Nanjo took it out of Jessica’s corpse. She then takes out another letter out of her pocket, which she says it was lying on the ground. The content of it is again a message from Beatrice, telling them to solve the epitaph.

LIES!

Beatrice’s tips:

*All of the servant room keys are inside a key box in the center of the servant room.

*It’s impossible to enter or exit except by the single door and the single window. And both of those were locked.

*The door and window cannot be entered or exited through when locked.

*It’s impossible to unlock the door except with a servant room key or a master key.

Inside the folder where the letter was are another two master keys, the ones the victims possesed. Rosa refuses to accept their deaths without seeing their corpses first. She brings up the theory of Dr.Nanjo and Kumasawa not being dead, and that they’re hiding somewhere in the mansion so they can attack them. Gohda swears the servants arent lying about the murder but Rosa refuses to fully believe it. Unless the corpses are found, the servants cant deny the possibility of being wolves. Shannon bursts into tears but Genji tells her to stop, taking out his master key and giving it to Rosa. The others do the same, and Rosa puts them in Maria’s handbag.

Guess what? Maria goes crazy-mode again as she tells her mother Beatrice doesn’t need keys to open doors. She raises her hand to slap her once again but she’s stopped by Battler, who kneels down and hugs Maria while letting out tears. He tells her he finally believes in Beatrice and that they should solve the epitaph.

BattlerxMaria, GETTO!

BattlerxMaria, GETTO!

Genji and company are ready to part from the Ushiromiya group now. Rosa wishes that, if they’re gonna be alive after the storm calms out, they’re gonna trust each other again and apologises if she sends away a sheep with the wolf. George decides to also go with them.

After they leave, only Rosa, Maria and Battler are left. All that previously took place was an act, as she still believes a duplicate master key exists. She takes Maria and goes, leaving Battler who was complaining about her trust issues behind.

+ Battler asks Beatirce to appear and tells Rosa there are only five master keys. She’ll agree to it if he agrees to become her furniture

*There are only five master keys.

In the kitchen again, Shannon now explains to George what happened more detailed, as to why she used the spider web etc. Long ago, evil spirits lived in Rokkenjima and spider’s webs were a treasured charm to repel that magic. She says she’s sure the spirits’ power was sealed in that shrine she destroyed the mirror at; the same sacred mirror that gave Beatrice her powers back. She is then reminded of Natsuhi having a magical mirror which also dispells magic; no wonder, since she’s from a family of shindou priests. The mirror is located to her room, and the key is supposdely with her, in her pocket. The  group decides to go fetch it, leaving Genji who wants to stay behind in case one of his masters asks for him, behind. A golden butterfly appears behind them as they leave and Genji stabs it.

In another room, Maria and Battler try to solve the epitaph so the ceremony can come to an end. Battler questions Maria if the rule about the ceremony ending is just a rule she made up, so they can make them search for Kinzo’s gold. Dissapointed, she replies the gold was Beatrice’s to begin with, leaving Battler wondering why is she making them do all this then. She replies that risk is necessary in magic and goes into explaining that all forms of magic have some sorts of risk and weak points; something like a gamble.

Entering the Chapel, the group has to decide who’s getting the key off Natsuhi. Gohda asks Shannon to do it, because, even if dead, Natsuhi is still a lady. Shannon finds it, but at that time hundreds of butterflies appear, lighting up the room. George panicks and runs to the door which has stuck and tries to open it, while Gohda is fighting against them. Ta-dah~ Out of nowhere, She appears; Beatrice, that is. George hurries to open the door, and at the time she was gonna lunch her attack, he manages to break open, rushing to Natsuhi’s room.

Searching into her drawers, they stumble upon a little box with a keyhole. Having no key, George takes his time to break the lock, leaving Gohda trying to hold the enemy Goat Buttlers behind the door. Hands appear through and kill Gohda, allowing a group of Beatrice’s goat-like buttlers to enter the room along her. George steps forward in an attempt to protect Shannon, still holding the half-opened box in his hands.

Only Beatrice’s hystericall laugh can be heard before the ED theme rolls in…

Spooky... Creepy....
